Labor Omnia Vincit

Centre for Advanced Studies in Labour Welfare has been established with a view to improve and strengthen the Labour Justice System in India. It strives to uphold and protect the rights of the labourers and their families thereby ensuring them a life of human dignity. The Centre also makes an effort to sensitize the labourers about their rights, which are enshrined in the Constitution of India and other legislations as well. In addition to it, the Centre makes an effort to impart education to the children of labourers in the University campus and makes them aware about their fundamental right to education thereby, making their parents realize their duty towards their children.

|RTI CONFERENCE 2022

The ‘Right to Know is the Right to Live’. Transparency and access to information is pivotal to the functioning of a democracy. An informed citizen is an empowered one. For this one should have free, unfettered access to information. The jurisprudence of Democracy revolves around the pure concept of ‘accountability’ which can only be achieved if people in authority and power are subject to public gaze and speculations.

|MIGRANT LABOURERS SERIES

The COVID-19 pandemic had led to the imposition of several lockdowns by the government at various levels, leading to the complete shutdown of commercial entities. However, while the pandemic had affected people from all walks of life, the migrant labourers dealt with the brunt of the lockdowns issued by the government, and have been affected the worst –economically, financially & culturally. Various courts and government authorities made sporadic attempts at alleviating the hardships faced by the migrant labourers, in the domains of employment, transportation, shelter, etc.

However, were the present interventions enough?
